I've noticed that some people translate old formal japanese into a slang variant when translating to english. its kinda weird. If anyone has played xenoblade chronicles 2, the character dahlia is supposed to have this kind of "formal" accent but in the english dub she speaks with a southern accent and uses southern slang as well. I don't get it.
