Is there such a thing as a GOOD rewrite?

I mean, from a certain point of view, it's just fanfiction, in that it is using another persons characters to tell an original-ish story.

That said, I think the only good rewrite I've ever seen was a Naruto one which was "Ino wants to know how Sakura got so strong. Sakura tells Ino that she got strong by drinking Naruto's cum."

There was another that was a rewrite of the first chapter of "Take on Me" where Tsuda is in fact a timetraveller who didn't know his own father. Somehow, he ends up fucking Ono repeatedly, who it turns out is his mother...meaning that Tsuda is his own father.

Look, just treat rewrites like people treated B-movies. It's not meant to be an object of serious critique and it's dangerously cheesy.

The issue isn't people thinking they are "above" rewrites. The two problems are that they think they are shit (which is a fair opinion to have, since it can apply to literally anything), and that shitty rewrites can either slow down or distract from actual quality translations. Notice how EZ provided a link to the RAW, but not the actual English translation? Someone less informed could just assume there isn't one, and it's incredibly unfair for the person who actually put in a lot of time and effort translating to possibly fly under the radar thanks to rewrites from uploaders that don't even have the courtesy towards those people to let others know their proper translation exists.

I did NOT like this "rewrite." I was not aware rewriting was a thing. But having read the original work, this rewrite is exactly WHY I like the original so much; it kept AWAY from making older women look like desperate lonely back-stabbing bad guys.
I will NOT give this even half of a star rating because all the half stars will eventually get added up by the algorithm and give this P.O.S. rewrite a good score.
