Originally the word “android” (as opposed to “robot”) meant an artificially produced human with artificial personality… Which is exactly what she is.
(In fact, I'm pretty sure that the only reason it's treated as a synonym of “robot” nowadays is the logo of Google's OS for smartphones.)
