But When some individuals see something that seems odd or doesn't really make sense in an erotic story, it tends to take them out of the fantasy. I actually like the travelogue in fiction. Especially in fantasy. There have been some great D&D supplements which were written that way. I don't think it's "encyclopedic" at all. And I'm excited to learn more about the Cottonwine world - especially the Porcine, who have been hinted at but not shown. Why are they the most violent ones where the other non-humans seem to like sex more or as much as violence? Or is this not true? Does cottonwine affect them more than others? Perhaps the fat build up gives them a higher concentration? Also are the elves and humans lying to themselves and cottonwine is a gateway to the spiritual which can affect the physical world?

It's a Jay Naylor work, which as has been pointed out at length by others, comes with a specific set of fetishes. You know what you're in for. You don't walk up to the ice-cream truck and get pissed he doesn't serve hot dogs. Just order your Furry Raceplay Cone. It'll have a drizzle of Cucklate Sauce and some Impreg Sprinkles. Or walk away.

But what isn't to be expected is how dull and lazy this format is. Five pages in there's been three panels and six character poses. Is Naylor paid by the page on Patreon? I don't care enough to check, just can't think of any other reason why this isn't being told in the form of a full comic with narration and dialogue telling the story side. Everyone knows the 'show, don't tell' rule by now, especially people who draw for a living. Let's SEE what's-her-face travel to exotic locations and have tense run-ins with her animal dudes, while trying to avoid various bad outcomes. It lends itself naturally to an episodic format which could vary in tone - partying with the docile twinkmorphs is going to be a very different story to planning, preparing, hunting, capturing and banging a muscular muhdickmorph whose schlong emits mind-control rays and who won't stop asking where the human women are at. You don't have to get bogged down in story arcs or even a consistent style if you don't want to, with a format like that.

That could be something, but right now this is nothing. This isn't a story, or even a comic. It's a dressed-up plot outline with sample images, like we're investors being sold on a project by an 'ideas guy'. And it's written with all the eroticism and sensuality of a biology textbook. It's phoned-in and lacks conviction. If you don't think your ideas are worth the effort to present in a developed form, why should anyone else care? Maybe he has other, real projects ongoing too, but if that's the case this is just a distraction from them. I feel bad for anyone who pays for what amounts to worldbuilding notes and vignettes. Just download a D&D Monster Manual and use your imagination, if that's enough for you.

I'm not saying anything you've said is wrong, but you seem to have misapplied your own ice cream metaphor. Art IS hard. Making a full comic DOES take a ton of time and effort. Sometimes artists don't want to expend that kind of energy. Naylor has done this before, this is nothing new. It's just a long form narrative with a few nice illustrations, it was simple to produce, it expanded Jay's universe, such things make for excellent creative exercises, especially when you are brainstorming new ideas or trying to get over some writers block. You seem to take issue with the fact they have shared this at all, and how dare they present anything less than a fully-realized 24 page book with full color illustrations and an edited script, right? Jay Naylor is not writing a comic right now (or they are and It's not finished yet) they are writing a side story and doodling. Jay could just leave it on their hard drive never to see the light of day, or they could just upload it since they're not uploading anything else now anyway. You're acting like those people that get mad about clones in Smash Bros. If the clones weren't there, those would just be empty character slots!

To bring it back to the ice cream metaphor, It's like you're ragging on the ice cream man for also selling candy. He still has plenty of ice cream flavors, and candy is easy to stock and sell. He's not neglecting the ice cream or failing to find new flavors, he just thought you'd appreciate an extra option since it cost him so little to offer.

The thing is, recently we've seen that Jay is capable of makign good content without cuckshit anywhere in it. Brooke goes to college is arguably his best work because it has all that Jay Naylor humor without the Jay Naylor Everything-else to ruin the flavor. To take this back to ice-cream It's a cone of good vanilla, and now that we know the option is there we have to wonder why he keeps drizzling this shit on everything else.
