Some people have issues with the story not because of content, but the overall jumbled tone of the story.

It feels like it was just thrown together, but usually when you take that route, you pick a direction and stick with it. The context and intent fluctuate wildly in both chapters.

For example, in the first chapter, Nick seems concerned about his partner's over energetic actions to get the bad guys. The tone of the story seems like it might have a foreboding bite to it. But not more than a few pages later, Nick teases and antagonizes Judy, who is "undercover" in a strip club, while she is "forced" to stay in character and does a very graphic dance for him. This pretty much sums up his demeanor, for what seems like the rest of the story. The further Judy falls, the more he teases her unapologetically about it.

Then Judy herself, is almost unfazed by all the things happening to her. In stories like this, you watch as the character falls further and further, and their personality mutates as time goes on. Judy, seems to have an on and off switch. And even that switch turns on and off at weird times. At the end of chapter one, she's made to perform some crazy sexual feats and seems perfectly composed right after it's done.

The tone keeps changing as well. It can go from lighthearted to dark and depraved at the drop of a hat. Not the first comic I've seen do that, but it's almost always jarring when it does. It's usually smoother to just pick a particular tone and try to stick with it.

A good example of this:

Kon-Kit's KayaNetori Kaya-Nee Series, with lighthearted in tone stories of Kaya-Nee having various extra-marital encounters in numerous comedic ways. Here, there isn't really much of a fall or mental corruption. Often times, she seems to just stumble into these situations.

and ANY Sanbun Kyoden manga. A more sinister and darker tone can be seen in his stories. Characters here tend to have a long protracted fall from grace. You journey with them as they under go various kinds of anxiety and mental anguish, ultimately leading to their complete moral degeneration.

I wouldn’t have cared to much for the ooc story and odd dialogue if the sex was still good. But even for a sex comic, it’s lacks the structure of a good one.
The last sex scene just feels rushed. All this buildup and there is only one page that has panels of Judy getting it, and it’s not even coherent. Sure the others are full page drawings, but there’s no movement or action like the blowjob and fingering scenes. Hell, the scene with otterson used as a “fucktoy” comes up with no release/ending. Kinda wish doxy went for jlullaby’s comic approach, of thoroughly showing big faceless guys breaking in the women.
But it seems to be just a pipe dream considering doxy moving to another series. Which sucks bc I find doxy’s Judy to be one of the better porn version of the character

Based on the first part and nick's attitude, along with the general idea of nick and judy being an item combined with this artist's habit towards certain things, as well as Mrs Otterton (someone who was shown in the movie to be deeply concerned with her husband's well being) I can only assume the complete clusterfuck of the story is a result of Doxy wanting to write a cuck/ntr story where Judy is corrupted by drugs and prostitution (like otterton was), but pulled back because he realized that writing cuckshit is polarizing at best and a reason to stop giving him patreon dollars at worst. The "don't be jealous sweetie" and general tone of Page 6 (the strong implication that Nick's got a good reason to be jealous) like makes a lot more sense in this context as well as a few others. The change from cuckshit probably happened past the halfway point of part 1, explaining nick's complete 180 from concerned/jealous to teasing and smug.

Honestly I'd prefer if more artists didn't see a popular pairing and think "i'm gonna wedge some cuckoldry in there" because like someone else said Doxy has great art but man does he like to shove degeneracy with it.

Also he drew a pic of judy with "merry cuckmas" so I mean that's not exactly confirmation it sure as hell doesn't help any argument against this. Sweet Sting is a story about cuckshit that was semi-retconned to not be entirely cuckshit.
