You can see the talent and the effort put into the images. However... maybe it is a symptom of being spoiled for choice by the Internet, but it all still feels underwhelming. It is the same feeling I get watching a lot of new anime- no. Actually it is the same feeling I had about Anime during the early 2000s.
I am no artists, so I can't give you the technical terms for any innovations in drawing techniques, but I know there was a radical shift somewhere along the line. Anime like Ranma, Slayers, Tenchi Muyo, and so on were like trail blazers in the 90s, but at the same time stuff like Saber Marionettes, Those Who Hunt Elves, Ruin Explorers (?), and so on started hitting the market; the style had become stale.
