I still don't get what the girls thought they'd accomplish by approaching these two creeps alone. If they cared at all what women thought and felt, there would be no situation to fix in the first place.

1) You don't reason with molesters. If talking could work, then the first girl would have saved herself. Bear in mind, one young girl was already a victim, so two more young girls inserting themselves into it was like telling a pedophile he just got a job driving a school bus and the final destination was his house. You can't even really say the stuff in the air was to blame, since the girls came up with the bonehead plan themselves.
2) The law was already allowing the molesters to get away with that much, so it was offering little protection. Which meant Eugeo and Kirito needed to be there to provide any needed protection.
3) The only people that should have been meeting with those jerks alone were either Kirito and Eugeo, or some higher authority. The whole issue started from the first girl being alone with a guy, how could they not see that this was more of the same? The mere fact that the first girl only got molested, but the pair were going to get raped, shows just how dumb an idea it was: they were going to get worse treatment, with witnesses, and still no protection from the law! That's way beyond naive, it's downright idiotic.

They thought they could actually convince them to change their minds by telling them to see reason. Maybe a naive way of thinking, but not strange in such a situation. They didn't know those 2 were basically counting on that to incense them and get them to 'insult' them in a way that would make them break the 'law' :O
