Dunno how much credit I can take for decensoring this one. There was almost none to begin with. Kind of funny to think I downloaded this tank for a different story, but this one got done first. I'll definitely do more from Sensei.

@goldensun321 There are different ways to decensor things. The technique you use will depend on the type of censorship. This one was relatively light censorship where you can see through the black bars to what is underneath. In fact, it was light enough that I just copied the black bars onto a new layer and played with the black and white levels until it was clean, then just erased any excess around the edges. Sometimes that doesn't work and you have to use the clone tool to match the tone (which can be finicky depending on the tone).

For a completely black bar, you just have to erase them with white, try to connect the ends of the lines, guess about what is missing (it helps if the artist has other uncensored works that you can use as reference) and either clone or patch the tone (patching means to grab a whole section from somewhere else on the page and fit it in place). It helps to add highlights too. Pixelated censors are similar to that, but there's alot more drawing involved. "Lightsaber" censoring is terrible and requires an actual artist who can match the original artists style (either that, or if there are enough decensors available, you can look through them for poses that match and try to copy and paste, but often this still means re-doing the tone). When drawing lines, it helps to have really big art (if it's too small, your lines will be jagged) and to play with the soft edge of your brush.

Of course none of this is possible without a good editing program. I use GIMP which is totally free and cross platform. If you have some money to burn, you can buy Manga Studio which has some awesome advanced features that can make all this easier. But realistically, you're better off investing in a tablet and getting used to using it (it's damn hard to draw proper lines with just a mouse).
