Couldn't they just have taken her memories/personality and just made a silicon copy? They even stated her remaining body was hollow inside and they just filled it with mechanical equipment. If the process of conserving her memories and personality would be done while she and the machine are connected and both conscious and the memories are deleted the same time they're rewritten, then she theoretically wouldn't notice it and it would be herself. The brain also just saves data and rewrites it, you're never the same person the next morning. So if the cyber brain works like a human brain it should be possible.
