@greengrasstree: The bigger issue is Krillin having money to burn (or taking it from his kid's college fund!) when his family lives with Master Roshi. But I would guess 18 is far less likely to be pressured into blowjobs, least of all by her husband who fears her.

@Liquid Shadow: The Son family's money trouble is canon, though. They depend on money from tournaments, so it's not like there's a stockpile that Chi-Chi dips into. Well, there is, but it's from the tournaments, not from her side of the family. I just assume when Ox-King's castle was destroyed, his fortune was in it. It makes no sense for Chi-Chi to be so worried about money if she has plenty. And it's not like Goku goes to every tournament. In fact he misses enough where people get used to Mr. Satan's strength being legendary, so quite a few. Which also means that Gohan isn't fighting in them, either. So that's a long time to survive on no tournament money, and not a job among them. There's no choice about it: Chi-Chi doesn't have money anymore. Home schooling her kids is partially about control, and partially to save money. Recall how shocked she was by Videl's lifestyle. Should that really be the reaction of someone who was still a princess? If anything she should have been richer than Videl. But all indications suggest Chi-Chi came from wealth, but that it dried up long ago, and the only rich people Chi-Chi knows now are Bulma and Mr. Satan. Who provide for her way more than Goku does, which is also canon.

@ fudragon146: Did you actually read my entire comment? My point is that Goku ISN'T going to the tournaments, and that's why his family has no money. But in particular I was referring to the period where Goku was DEAD, so of course he wasn't earning money from tournaments. And neither was Gohan, which is the point, the family had no money coming in.

If we are pointing out plot holes, I'd say the most obvious one wouldn't be Krillin having money to burn, but the very idea that Chi Chi could ever be low on funds. She is a literal princess with a mountain of treasure who simply chooses to live in a small humble abode in the wilderness where they even catch their own food. Couple that with Goku's prize money from the tournaments he has won and the fact that no one in Chi Chi's family are frivolous spenders, they should have enough money for their great-great-great grand kids to live comfortably.
