It kind of looses the point of him being stuck as a girl towards the end, since he's accepted it so completely. The last chapter seems sad and distressing though because it hints that his brain damage is continuing to hinder him and may even be worsening. The point that he can't clearly remember when he met his new friends is disturbing. I hope that he'll be able to progress through the grades normally, if only so that he can keep up with the friends that he's made. If not, I hope that they continue to care about him and look after him. At the least it would be nice if he would be able to continue to make new friends and that his old friends will come back and look in on him as his onee-sans. Though it would still be sad that he would be stuck repeating grades or progressing slowly while forgetting about each generation of new friends he makes... Even worse is the thought that his brain damage actually degenerates and he is not able to progress at all and looses even more of his faculties, memories, and ability to recognize those he's come to know and care for. So let's hope for the happiest possibility.
