Also when translating SFX, try to give them English equivalent SFX, because nobody knows what the fuck "Gubopo" or "Shubo Bucho" (on page 10) is supposed to be, but most people know what "Splurt" and "Gush" mean.

E-hentai is super-packed with scanlators, most of which have questionable quality. If you want more people to notice your work, you have to step your game up and deliver a quality product. Otherwise, you'll get lost among the crappy scanlations out there. And for fuck's sake, no more fucking experiments on this site. There's enough shit on e-hentai as is, and that other gallery made you look bad, stupid, and incompetent, which are 3 things you don't want to be known for as a scanlator. How do I know all this? I'm an editor for a top-flight scanlation group called the Little White Butterflies, and I'm speaking from personal experience.

@THDragon Thanks, I have read a few guides, but I am still clearly an amateur. I'll read that guide you posted. I just went with whatever scan had the highest resolution because my brain registers "bigger resolution number = better" and I don't really notice things like how level pages are. As for the SFX, I couldn't find it on my regular resource (http://thejadednetwork.com/sfx) so I just winged it out of frustration. I had another resource for sfx that had other SFXs, but I lost it when I switched PCs.

Little tip for superimposed text (ex: pp.1-2) - if the background is almost uniform, you can use the Spot Healing Brush or Clone Stamp tools and then do slight touch-ups if it's not a perfect job. It'll look infinitely better than blurring out stuff.

Also recommend picking up redrawing as a skill. It comes in very handy for this type of text.

And please don't do "joke" translations like the other one anymore. There's enough lazy, garbage translations out there to weed out - if people start doing this shit ironically, it'll be a nightmare.
