It's mostly a western thing, I suppose - and there's already 'mind break' for usual eastern substitution of it.
Rebis couldn't even understand it for a time, all while being familiar with gyaru, and all that jazz. Asked his western followers to clarify the notion before creating his "Gyaru vs. bimbo" thingy because he simply could not grasp the concept, from his own words.
