Judy's life isn't going as she hoped. @Nintyfresh: Well, since the Jetsons is supposed to take place in the future, it'd be more like Fred Jones was Elroy's ancestor (and Scooby was Astro's).
But yeah, that made me do a double take, too. At least they evolved away from ascots.

@Nintyfresh: To be honest, Hannah Barbera had only 3 designs regarding males.

1) Really cartoony, George Jetson falls into this one.
2) Hippie lanky guy, Shaggy falls into this.
3) and Fred.

If you see several of their cartoons, you'll see that Fred design was actually recycled a lot... due to fact that there was a LOT of Scooby Doo Clones.

Even adult Bam-bam ended up looking a LOT like Freddie... Or it could be that Bam-Bam adult design was what influenced Fred's design. So, for the sake of making this actually appealing we went for the Fred Design instead of the more loyal to the series really cartoony design of Elroy.
