While she's on the line Hirofumi apologizes for being a bad boyfriend and asks her to please come back. Natchan then pretends to be Hiroko, and when he asks about all the noises in the background, she explains that they're just the cicadas. He starts to get worried that she's cheating on him, and Natchan responds as Hiroko saying there's nothing for her out her in the countryside. (I'm not really sure how to interpret the next part)... Natchan sees Hroko's actions for what they are, an act of retribution against her boyfriend for whatever he did. The girl she saw as bright and gentle in the past, the girl she wanted to be like, is also cruel. Natchan decides to be like her, and also be cruel, continuing the charade with Hirofumi and saying (as if she were Hiroko), that she was also at fault for the fight, and how much she loves him, while she continues to fuck Hiroko all the while. By the end of the call, Natchan expects Hiroko to despise her for answering the phone and pretending to be her, yet Hiroko remains kind and gentle to her (Natchan guesses this is because Hiroko looks down on her but Hiroko consoles her and she drops that line of thinking). She thinks about how even though she came so much, the condom's thin barrier prevented even a drop from reaching her. Hiroko has a send off, as she returns to the city, saying that Hirofumi is waiting for her. Natchan tells her to come back and visit her anytime. It ends with Natchan saying that she'll be waiting for her next return.

I interpret the ending two ways.

Either it's suppose to be bittersweet, as in Natchan sorrowfully saying "I will always be waiting for you" with no expectations, or it's meant to be more vindictive and self-assured, like "I know you'll be back soon enough. I'll be ready and waiting for you then."
