Rape and NTR doesn't have to be exclusive to one another though. For NTR to exist the idea of a favoritism towards a specific love interest needs to exist, it's harder if not impossible to do in a polygamous society since every lover is treated equal and thus, there's no reason to value one over the other and has merit to be considered a theft of a loved one.
