- some people may prefer a subpar translation over no translation at all.

For first translations, you should go with something older and less likely to actually be translated. When people see that something is already translated, it means it's less likely to be worked on by another group.

Especially since you don't know Japanese and with English not being your first language, it can lead to errors and the words not being conveyed in the way they are meant to be.

So basically, the main criticism is: "put mtl in tags / title" and "don't do that shit with new releases, since it will put off other translators". I can totally understand that, and I am sorry for my lack of understanding of this scene.

I do find a few comments out of line, mainly talkign about @Daruna. No need to get personal. We are still on a site with pirated / stolen content. I understand not liking the content and giving it a bad review, but there is no need to get so heated. We are all adults (atleast i hope so) and have a certain amount of empathy. I am not sure, if hornyness affects other emotions, but maybe that plays a bigger part, than I might think in this instance.

From my point of view, the whole story looked like this:
- I saw something visually pleasing on this website, but was put off by the fact, that I did not understand a word of what was written.
- I translated it with MTl software, found online for personal enjoyment.
- I thought other people, who do not understand a single word of japanese, might prefer to understand it.
- I used a few hours to edit the translations into the panels.
- I get shit on, for essentially using a few hours of my free time, for sharing something for free, which was neither racist, sexist nor anything remotely offensive.

I will not stop working on these, but I will just go for older releases. Hey, you might even see improvements.

Sorry to leave you in the dark fellows, but I have rewrites filtered so I didn't even see this until someone linked it to me. I plan on translating it fairly soon (a week, maybe?), so don't worry about this particular release.

Please start valuing quality over just getting an English translation out there. Don't just churn out a machine translation and pat yourself on the back for a job well done. You can't act like you're doing something good for the community if you're putting out what's ultimately an inferior product in the end.

As someone who has done MTLs I'll give you the good advice do drop yandex out of your list and just focus on using deepl and google translate. They are the2 best out of your list and they will already give you enough confusion.
The biggest problem I came across while using online translators is that they not always give you the best or correct translation of a word. If a word has several different meanings in english they mostly choose the first option out of their list and not necessarily the best or correct. I try to compensate this by additionaly running each sentence through an online dictionary prefered jisho.org or tanoshiijapanese.com and romajidesu.com. But how helpful this will be for you depends on your english skills.
And a fair warning some artist are pretty googleproof.

Do you know how a dictionary works?
I mean other than Webster or Oxford (or wahtever it's called in your country) that allow you look up the meaning of a word and explaining it in the same languge.
I mean the English to German or Spanish to French etc. The ones telling you what a word of one language can mean in another language.
Even if you're learning a language you will automatically come across words you don't know. So you look them up in a dictionary. It's not unusual for such words to have several meanings. How do you decide on wich one is the correct one for your case? You use your brain and the context to decide wich is the correct one. Absolutly EVERYONE who has ever learned a language not just from hearing did that.
It's not rocket science.

With all this hate and anger I kind of get the urge to put out another MTL just to piis you off. Be thankful that I'm to lethargic for that right now.

And can we finally get a MTL tag so that all these *censored* can filter MTLs and stick their hate up some place where even the gods don't want to look for it.

All it does is completely distort the story, which is why it has the rewrite tag on it. If you continue to do this rather than attempt to learn Japanese properly and get a better grasp on the English language, then everything you produce will similarly have zero value. It would be better if you simply didn't do this anymore.

@Ancient-Alien: The biggest problem with MTL is that Japanese is a heavily context-based language, and MTL cannot understand context. It's also notoriously bad at slang, in-jokes, and quirks. So MTL from Japanese to English will always be utterly awful, and should never for any reason be encouraged.

The sad part is that this isn't the worst translation I had ever seen. There are obviously mistakes here and there, but it's still coherent.

There's some god awful shit out there, especially when it involves a work that isn't directly translated. Things get so garbled it becomes unreadable.
