When you through in the tropes of Yu-Gi-Oh! and the Virtual World arc, then it kind-of does.

Duel Monster selected as a Deck Master partner? Check.
Focus on using the Power of Friendship in the hope of defeating the bad guy? Check.
Bullshit anime card with a bullshit anime effect? Check. (Though it seems this card only works so long as the user pays life points based on the little text that is seen.)

Mix all that with the Hentaiworld logic and you get Tea and DMG beaten by tentacles and mind broken into the bad guy's sex slaves.
