A heartwarming story for sure; I don't regret coming here to find out how it ended after reading a few pages of it on Pixiv. I'm inclined to believe Ayumi; She herself seems convinced that what she tells us in the prologue is what happened to her, at the very least.

Ayumi willingly enters into a relationship with - and then fucks bareback - a guy she knew was enough of a dickhead to ditch her for getting pregnant: It's why she doesn't just tell him she's pregnant, but instead hides it from him - for several months - until he finds out on his own. She chose a man like that, despite knowing not every man is that much of a cocksucker; She immediately recognizes the type of guy the male lead is when he shows her kindness and concern after bumping into her... Judging him for it by calling him a pantywaist (read: "pussy whipped B").
Again, I liked this story, but you do have to keep in mind who's telling it and that narrators can be unreliable, deliberately or otherwise.
Just because someone believes what they're telling us is true, doesn't mean it always is.

Ayumi's sad story is not that uncommon: Her family life was not good as she grew up, and she got involved with some seedy characters as a side effect of that (a side effect of just not giving a shit about anything). She gets used and abused over and over, but because she has so few options to get by, she just keeps enduring it. She's used to being around some pretty rough dudes, so when she meets Yuuma, gauging his slight of build, glasses-wearing, and clean cut, she deems him as one of those guys that the men she's been when with call a "pantywaist". Keep in mind that Ayumi at this point has mostly convinced herself that all men are shitheads, and even if she didn't call him that name aloud, she predicts that even such a soft looking guy would still try to take advantage of her.

I'm not certain I understand when you say "I'm inclined to believe Ayumi (about her bad origins, presumably); she herself seemed convinced that what she tells us in the prologue is what happened to her..". Is there some other frame of reference to indicate that she wouldn't be telling the truth, that she is instead projecting a false narrative to us? Even if that were true, how would we be able to tell the difference? I understand well the concept of an unreliable narrator, but that doesn't apply here, since there is no one else telling the same story, with alterations to it, and there's nothing else that points to the idea that Ayumi might be lying. I'll admit though, some afterstory that shows that she was lying about everything and just using Yuuma would be kind of interesting, if not cliche.

As far as I can tell though, at her core, Ayumi is a good girl who went through some desperate situations. She did unfortunate things to get by, and even though it would have been just as easy for her to take full advantage of Yuuma's kindness, she moves to separate herself from him once she considers how 'dirty' she is compared to him. However, he's the only nice man she's ever known, who seems to genuinely care about her, despite her circumstances. Of course she will stay with him, and there's no ill intent behind this decision.
