I'm not a native speaker so I did my best to make a good translation
So if a native one would like to make a better translation than mine, message me so I'll delete my version.
But for now I think it's better than nothing

You've basically ensured that no-one else will do an actual translation* of this doujin, so we're stuck with your shit release. Good job, I guess?
Also preventing the reply "why so serious, it's free so something is better than nothing" I say no, a free meal with shit mixed in is worse than nothing, because you've wasted the ingredients.

* any translation, even shit ones, massively decreases the likelihood of any future version because translators – not wanting to waste their time – focus on the untranslated works, and in search results hack jobs such as this one appear the same as real translations.

Yeah people always seem to assume a quick "translation" like this couldn't possibly affect the chances of a real translation down the line. Some might point to cases where a shit upload like this has resulted in a real translation because a translator saw it, got offended seeing such a disservice to an artist they like, and started working on a fixed version immediately. Those cases are indeed out there but they're a minority.

In the vast majority of cases a scanlator looking for new projects will skim the artist tag and go "oh, that one has an English version, better refocus my efforts on something that hasn't been translated yet." and a potential commissioner might just read this and go "eh close enough, I'll just hope this guy learns how to translate properly and fix his gallery, saves me the money" There are translators out there that have rewrite and/or poor grammar as hidden or at least watched tags to avoid falling for this, and if they really like the artist they might find out the need for a better version when they actually attempt to read the "translated" version but overall it'll still lower the chances of a doujin being picked up by real translators.

Duplicate translations do happen this is usually because multiple translators start on something before the first one finishes and the rest just finishes up anyway because they might as well if they already sunk in the time investment of getting halfway. There are more instances of poor grammar that have never been replaced or fixed on just the very popular artist tags that get noticed by translators for sure than there are true translations thanking a poor translation for bringing it to their attention overall.

You can of course try to justify shitty translations with "oh it was never gonna be translated anyway" and "no reputable translator was ever gonna notice it" but even then it doesn't really add much value to something barely comprehensible. The point here is that if a reputable translator does notice a shitty translation, they're more likely to mistake it for a job already done than they are to see the cover then click on it and find out it is a job they could be doing much better.

On very rare occasions the uploaders fix stuff themselves but in the vast majority of uploads like this, the uploader doesn't have any capacity to read and translate Japanese, often struggles with having a pretty poor grasp of the English language as well. Editing is sometimes a saving grace but often just as bad as the translation, these people with no qualifications to scanlate beyond having an hour to waste typesetting a machine translation they didn't proofread are running into dead ends they mistook for shortcuts. To completely fix their mess they'd have to acquire the skill or experience they tried to bypass earlier then start over from scratch.

its bullshit to say that a bad translation means something will never get a proper translation. there are sooo many holes in that argument its not even funny, here's a few.

a) it makes a HUGE assumption that the given work was definitely going to be translated.
b) it makes a HUGE assumption that a reputable translator had ANY interest in the given work without prior acknowledgement.
c) it perpetuates a FALSE narrative, people have the free will to translate whatever they want here regardless of prior translations.
d) it makes it seem like there are no alt. translations of PROPER translations.
e) it makes it seem like uploaders NEVER read the comments and fix their fuck-ups.

a shit translation is just that, a shit translation. if something doesn't get a proper follow up translation it probably was never going to get one any way.
