Thank you! I was hoping for the normal-res version! The other translation was absolutely welcome but it was also 55% idioms from various languages. Maybe, I'm getting old, but it was a bit grating for me to read.

I appreciate the higher res images but... honestly liked the other translation more, not to knock on the effort though.

People go way too easy on the speech patterns when it comes to all these gyaru doujins, there is no way in hell you'd get something so... formal sounding? Stilted? In a situation like this, where you're going to be super casual. And it's honestly half the appeal of going for the gyaru-type. Sure, a surprisingly prim-and-proper girl despite her choice of looks is nice as well, but especially in this one we DEFINITELY do not have that kind of girl. Going with some kind of dialect, lots of idioms and abbreviations feels much more appropriate.

I get where you're coming from, but the other translation goes too far in the other direction. You can make it sound casual without completely memefying the dialogue, and as far as that goes, the valley girl thing isn't really exactly the vibe gyaru carries with it 99% of the time. There is no real way to properly convey the nuance of a gyaru in English. I respect the attempt, but if I have to pick between slightly more formal sounding dialogue or the word salad presented in the more loose translation, I'll take this one because it's less distracting.

Yeah I'm sure a real gyaru would say something like "beneath your kindly veneer, you're seething with arousal." Even a literature professor would find that too posh in a situation like this.

I guess the other translation goes a bit far when it comes to how the guy speaks. I'd have the guy be a bit more formal overall with but otherwise, the other translation is better. There are plenty of translators that take "gyaru" talk too far but I think the other translation mostly hit the sweet spot. I think the guy is a little more on the up and up with the kind of girlfriend he has so his internal thoughts should be a little less "teenager" for lack of a better word. He might be abrasive outward towards sluts like Misaki but inside, he should be slightly less.

Page 4 comparison of both uploads for example:
Other translation: "Jesus fuck, her cans are huge. What are those, like a Z-cup?"
This translation: "As usual, those knockers are way to huge. I wonder what her cup size is?"
I personally think Mitsumori is more like this upload's translation at least internally. Still, overall in the context of this work and with a few comparisons between the two translations and the original, the other translation conveys the intent better.

For some more info here's the exact Japanese before they translated it.

This translation translates exactly what he says. Other translation takes multiple liberties and uses terms that aren't said, like "Z-cup".

People have different preferences; it's fine to like whatever version you like. It's great to have another translation of a very great work.

Personally, I tend to prefer the more literal translations. I'm currently playing through an anime game where the localization changes stuff just for the sake of changing stuff. For no reason, just because they think they're a good writer and can spice up the game or something. It's painful listening to the Japanese voices while understanding what they're saying and having to read text that they aren't even saying. They'll add in extra lines that aren't being said, exaggerate so much that it changes characters' personalities, etc; it's rough.
