Well I wouldn't say that the point of it is to distinguish itself from manga, tho. The format is born from digital drawing, which korean artists adopted earlier than japanese did (at least as a general rule. Sure, there have been japanese artist using digital means for as long as they exist, but they became mainstream in Korea first). That's why it's mostly in color, because there is no "inking" to be done, and it's a lot more forgiving than paper media. I would also disagree that they can't catch up in artistic merit. There are a LOT of mediocre to bad japanese artists. There are just as many mediocre to bad korean ones. If you look at the top end of both tendecies, they are not actually that far away from one another. They do difer, manhwa tends to focus more on color and scene composition than fine detail in characters, but it can be absolutely gorgeous (Abide in the Wind or Nowhere Boy come to mind as examples). You are also wrong about the mentality of "Manhwa is totally different from manga". It's a reading thing, we are the ones making the differentiation, actually: in korean both words are pronounced the same.

What the heck, I expected there to be some kind of quirk to Ashely, but as of chapter 15 her best girl rating keeps going off the charts. What a keeper! Now I'm hoping they just play it straight and she can live happily with Theo. With this context the ELF is becoming more and more a pure antagonist lol, I don't even want to see her 'tortured", you perverted elf just leave Theo alone and find someone else to indulge your fetishes! There are probably tons of actual sadist out there that can satisfy her. Then again the plot seems to be going in a direction where she's trying to take revenge or something.
