p.7 is hyper overleveled, and some of the translation is wrong in general. Actually, you straight up replace a lot of the (admittedly repetitive) dialogue with moans or SFX, and I feel like you completely evacuated character voices. it's kinda unfortunate cuz I've been working on this lol

Hi, I really only do stuff that I think nobody else will ever do, so I figure it's better for me to do a readable one rather than it staying untranslated forever. I focus more on what I think makes the text flow better/sound hotter in English rather than being 100% true to the source material, as long as the general points come across. Page 9 is a clear mistake from me - I've misunderstood my notes and assumed from the drawing that it was a kiss. Again, my goal is to make readable translations of works I'm interested in that I don't think anyone else will do (seeing as this artist's other stuff is untranslated as well).

If you want to release a higher quality version I'll happily delete this one.

I think your premise is noble, but you're overthinking this. Making an accurate translation should be the main idea, and then you can adapt (or localize) it to your audience. It's a 2-step process. The idea that one needs to sacrifice accuracy for readability is silly and mostly stems from inexperience (I thought the same when I started out). Both are perfectly achievable.

I also don't agree with the idea of "something is better than nothing". This usually ends with a race to the bottom. Rather, "something GOOD is better than nothing" should be the expression.

I can definitely tell you're passionate about your work and appreciate the high effort you put into it. I will absolutely take your advice to heart and do my best to improve if there ever is a next time.

I don't fully agree with you though, and I suppose that's because we have different philosophies. If this was a manga translation I would absolutely agree with you since there's a lot of stuff that's barely readable in English, yet discourages a decent translation because people see it's being done already. Since this is porn, however, having a functional translation that doesn't bother you because it's full of grammatical errors is the most important thing to the readers, I think. That's definitely my own experience having been a reader for years. I don't mean to devalue the work you put in; the readers can absolutely tell and appreciate it. Actually, I do realize as I'm typing this that I do probably focus too much on the readability and cut corners on the sound effects since it "doesn't matter to the readers whether this was an 'ah' or an 'oh'". I really doubt the vast majority who read this translation will ever care, but I guess I'm too focused on the end result so I end up sacrificing important principles that I should be sticking to.

Thank you for commenting - this has been a real eye-opener. I'll stick to doing stuff that's older than this from now on, and while I still think it's better to have a decent translation than none at all, I'll definitely be putting more effort in from now on.

This being porn is irrelevant. I try to put in as much respect, care, and effort into my TLs as the artist puts into their work, even if the work is just some bitch getting railed by a fat old man for 50 pages. Hell, I'd argue some porn artists are even deserving of respect than some lazy mangaka drawing Generic Forgettable Isekai #84336, and have had significant impact on the scene (at this point, who doesn't know, even indirectly, Asanagi or ShindoL?)

Not to be mean here, but most readers on porn sites would be happy with stick figures and dialogue written in hieroglyphics. The standards you should aspire to should be your own, and I assume (since you've actually bothered replying to me kek) that you want to improve them over time.

Anyway, good TLs are always welcome, and that's really all I care about.
