i've been noticing this for a while, but it seems there's been no change for the better, so:
the text centering alignment is off most of the time. it's like it's done manually instead of automatic as it should be.
are you still using ms paint? maybe you should try using irfanview instead. the tools there are very crude and basic but at least the text input is easily configurable.
just another option if paint.net or gimp is too much for you. good luck and thanks for the hard work!
