One thing I love about Sanbun, he always does a really good job with letting you know the innermost thoughts of the MCs watching this stuff go down. It's haunting in some cases.

From what I understand, Uninhabited Island/Rakuen Kara No Kikan is part of Sanbun's earlier publications and one-shots. This sequel/epilogue story came much later than the original story.

The original plot makes the timeframe to be rather ambiguous on how long they've been marooned on the island. I'm guessing at least a few weeks to a few months. That would give enough time for Simone to believe that rescue would not come and interact more with Hans.

What's really sad about the sequel is that the father has no idea, at least until the baby is born I believe, and Mike is too kind-hearted, reluctantly willing to keep his mother in his life rather than cutting her out as she had already done to him.

I think it's implied that Hans told Simone to stay with her husband and son as it is much more stable for her. It'd be harder for Hans to provide for Simone and their unborn child due to his status as an orphan who is more of a laborer rather than a business man. Plus, with his sadistic streak as a bully, I'm pretty sure the knowledge of taking Mike's mother away from him just adds to the taboo pleasure that Hans is experiencing.

Obviously, Mike should've exposed Simone's affair and cut her away from him and his father. She and Hans could have all the sex they desire, but they should also be prepared for the consequences of such an illicit affair.
