hardcase8translates for all your color image ruining needs. Great work guys, over 100 uploads and you still don't know how to properly export color images. I randomly checked images from todays uploads of this artist and all images were saved in index mode with 8 bit colordepth.
Let me make it clear for you, if you take a 24bit colordepth image with 16.7 million possible colors and convert it into an 8bit colordepth png image with 256 colors (Yes, not a single color more) even png images are no longer lossles.
If you reduce the colordepth of a color image from 24bit to 8bit you're throwing image quality in the bin and turn smooth color gradients into dot clouds.
So, if your color images get to big when exporting them as pngs, don't save them in index mode. Save them as jpgs with a quality setting between 95% to 98% you're far less image quality by saving them as jpegs.
