The ironic part is that you think that the OCR is accurate when it DOES pick up the kanji/kana.

1. OCR => bound to be some inaccuracies on the stuff it captures or stuff it can't pick up.
2. Then you MTL => again, more mistakes because MTL blows.
3. Then you "edit" based on visual context/what you THINK it's supposed to mean => more mistakes

This has gone through 2 machine processes, and a human process basically reliant on the previous two, so make it 3.

Reminder: If you don't like waiting for a good translation, you can do other things than MTL. For ex., E-h has a bounty system. You can make use of it in order to find a translator and/or an editor.

A MTL will simply hurt the work as it greatly reduces the chances of it getting a proper translation. After all, TL groups usually simply check if a work already has a translation or not before working on it.

Lastly, going back to the "I don't like waiting" thing: Ch.4 translation was released 4 days ago. Was it this difficult to wait a little bit longer...? Or to send a PM to the owner of the gallery in order to check if he'll work / is working on the next chapter...?

Well, it's kind of hard to not notice even if you're not a connoisseur when there are things like "Open your legs" and the character opens their mouth (since that's obviously what it was supposed to be).
Like, using an MTL can be fine if they don't know the language well, but they then need to at least use an editor or do the editing themselves so that they catch at least the blaring mistakes like that.....

(oh, I just checked and they did fix that in this gallery and fixed it from Legs to Mouth, though I already downloaded original torrent and this new one, seems like @cutegyaru is right, while the new version fixes some things, it makes even more mistakes.... Not sure if the original bad MTL or this new MTL of the MTL with attempted fixes is worse.....)

I'm not really a "hentai connoisseur". Just an editor. This is why I mentionned E-h bounty system by the way. I used it in order to find a proper translator to work with.

As for the score... Sorry to say it but I wouldn't consider it to be a good indicator if I were you. Like you mentionned yourself, most people don't care about the quality. Or more exactly, "they don't care about the accuracy of the translation" would be a better formulation. Why should they? They don't know if the translation is correct, incorrect, good, bad. So they take whatever they can. Due to that, I already saw faaaaaaaaaaar worse translations than this one getting a far better score... Likewise, people tend to judge depending on the content. I already saw good translations or even simply good raw get bad scores just because they had an unpopular tag.

I checked out the bounty system, and it looks good, so i'll be sourcing the translations from there in the future, if only to avoid all of the complaints :P

Appreciate the tip! And also I didn't realize that chapter 5 only came out a few days ago, that's on me. I just thought people would appreciate some sort of translation sooner rather than later, as I am in that category. Still, I'll be using the bounty system to try and get things official next time.

Honestly, just keep the work to yourself if you're going to machine translate it. You couldn't wait for a group to translate something/ spend money commissioning a group to do it? That's understandable. But don't put out half assed machine translations on here. Just save the version for yourself. You clearly put more effort into this than other machine translations but please, just do everyone a favor and don't post it.

If you (not you specifically, a general "you") bothered putting in effort to machine translate and then edit that machine translation and then typeset, you could have put that effort somewhere else. If you're so impatient that you couldn't wait for a real translation, work on learning the language yourself. What an investment! Then you never have to wait for translations again! You can just consume the raws as they drop.
