Machine Translation is still tagged as Translation, sorta in the name. Rewrite only applies if you make shit up with the intent of writing your own story. While both involve some guesswork there's a difference in intention, the Rough Translation tag and comment section exist for pointing out if the MTL is inaccurate (which is often the case but the severity varies wildly depending on how "MTL-friendly" the raw is, minor inconsistencies are a nuisance but not worth the tag)

Guro does not apply to robots, they use Dismantling instead (as mentioned in the tag description for Guro), though these tags are oddly asymmetrical in that Guro is a 1panel tag while Dismantling seems to require regular presence.

Transformation should not be paired with Body Modification in this way, as mentioned in the tag description for Body Modification.

Best to actually familiarize yourself with tag definitions before using them. (though fair enough in the case of Rewrite, there has been heavy discussion on that one because the description implies much broader use than was actually intended, but for whatever reason those in charge of the wiki are stubborn about not clarifying that shit in the description)

People are pretty aggressive about tagging MTL as Rewrite, partly because of confusion caused by the description not clarifying how relevant uploader intent was for the tag, partly because a lot of people have it blacklisted and they think they're doing the community a service by hiding what they consider to be bad translations on prejudice alone even if most of them don't have a fucking clue how bad it was really butchered (as mentioned, the damage done by MTL varies wildly, on one hand, Japanese is a really tough language for MTL to handle, but on the other hand companies like Google aren't investing millions into the software just for it to be objectively useless. There's a few out there like Cutegyaru that know what they're talking about though they might not bother checking how bad the damage really is before pasting their mantra about how MTL is always literally the worst, but most don't speak Japanese either and just parrot the "MTL is always literally the worst" mentality even in cases where a human translation would have looked the same). Of course I do think people should always strive to learn Japanese instead of blindly relying on MTL but it isn't as black and white as people make it out to be, machines do a decent job sometimes and there are individuals like Laruffi that prove human translations definitely aren't good by default either.

Change tags (like Transformation and Body Modification, but also Gender Change which has some special ruling for the Cosplay category that seems to piss super straight guys off really badly) are a cesspool of tagging issues in general, just figured that because you seemed to be tagging your own uploads (and uploaders get a whopping +20 MP when voting on their own galleries) and a lot of people will just upvote whatever is already there instead of adding anything new, informing you would hopefully nip the issue in the bud for the most part.

If you see stuff getting mistagged but can't straighten it out by yourself (which wouldn't be uncommon for new users, even older users that get to MP6 on account age alone aren't going to accomplish much working solo) you can report it here

Having galleries tagged properly generally makes them better received, as having incorrect tags might clickbait and in turn frustrate people interested in tags incorrectly there (like Guro in this case for example, though Guro fans are a pretty minor demographic), scare off users that might have liked it otherwise (Guro being a great example again, just like Rewrite it is often blacklisted) or in case of correct tags not being present, just prevent people that would have been interested from finding the gallery.

DeepL ain't bad, but it has a major flaw in being sort of a black box, you don't have a clue of what is going on in there. If google translate struggles with something it's often blatantly obvious, if DeepL struggles it'll make something up and pretend everything is fine, it'll be perfectly cohesive English but it might not even get close to being an accurate translation.

I have been double checking translations, especially those that I deem suspicious, by cross-referencing word definitions and trying to manually untangle the grammar with the bits that I know and the stuff I look up. Obviously this is far from perfect. I understand how wacky machine translation can get outside of the most basic sentence structures. Grammar can be really hard to look up if you don't know what you are looking at. I obviously don't want the translation to be bad, so I work with the skill-set I have and I try my best.
