The Tankoubon came out a few months ago and now we finally got around to doing it. Here's the final product. It was kinda surreal to translate something by an artist who I've known about for so long. It was also a big honor.

Thanks so much for translating. I think I've loved every one of their stories, and also they draw great facial expressions. The cognitive dissonance as people get corrupted that tends to happen is great too.

Context for the uninitiated: they've used this format for introducing characters before. On several occasions. Not that I'm complaining, I think it's great. Kind of interesting that that's become a calling card for them, though.

Neo-Arkansas: That sounds like a Baalbuddy comic premise.

Edit: having read the finale, I'd like to add that Gekka Kaguya just does the best corruption because at least people end up happy in their own twisted ways. And the facial expressions. Page 153, bottom left panel, for instance

@matxeon A lot of the rushed writing in the last chapter makes me think Gekka wanted to add more to the series but was told he had to wrap things up in a single chapter. With some luck, we may get some extra content some day

I really loved the first chapter with the main character getting corrupted, but pulling together at the end. Even if she didn't win, she ultimately got to do something clever, resist, and escape so her story could continue. But after that, the next two girls get corrupted without too much fuss, the girl after that seems promising, but get corrupted even easier, the girl after that has this interesting story set up only to be corrupted off screen, and then we have all of these side characters who get corrupted and transformed between panels. The main character comes back at the end only to give up when she realizes everyone's already corrupted anyway, so everything felt kind of anti-climatic in more ways than one. Then we get this nine page bonus chapter where we introduce THREE MORE girls who seem to have taken up the hero mantle. We know they're getting corrupted from the moment they show up, but instead, they were corrupted before we were even introduced to them, and they just immediately drop the pretense that they didn't need in the first place, and the whole thing felt like we were robbed of what was looking like a really awesome story. The art's great, the page count is awesome, and the story planted so many seeds full of potential, it's just disappointing that most of it got dropped almost immediately to go to another thing that then also got dropped.
