Here’s something fun. Pregnancy is considered to last 10 months in Japan, rather than the 9 months typically used in English-speaking countries. It’s still 40 weeks total, but Japan traditionally divided it into lunar months. That 10 month measurement remained even after they switched to the Western calendar. Suzuya’s saying her pregnancy probably has a couple weeks to go, but we might take 9 months to mean “due any time now.”
