Oh damm, I rolled my eyes when I saw that red box for a watched Rewrite tag on my front page, I know I usually have to clean out tag abuse when I see that one.
Saw the title, amused and curious at this point, was expecting a shitty edit from someone with no talent but a desperate need to see their fetish represented at that point (as would normally be the case when rewrite and niche fetishes align)...
But this just blows me away, don't think I wouldn't have been able to tell this was edited if I had gotten the chance to look at the pages without confirmation bias blaming anything that is even slightly off on the edit.

I'm happy to have seen this and it isn't even my fetish.
Redrawing/rewriting instead of making something from scratch limits how much you can really do but I know this is one of those niches where getting content at all is a welcome improvement.

...but it seemed to have only been made available for purchase in-person at COMITA124 and never got a second print run, meaning it doesn't seem to have ever been scanned despite now being 4 years old.

And for completion sake, as I mentioned on DA, always remember to download the actual original resolution versions (2450px wide for the unedited version of this doujinshi) rather than the 1280px wide downsized versions when doing any sort of edits or translations or the like - this is a common beginner's mistake that sadly has indeed occurred with this edit.

Hot dam, Monoeye and Conjoined together, either of them is rare enough (wasn't saying they don't come up, just that they're incredibly exotic) but together is truly exceptional.

I can kinda see the point of rewrite/redraw=defacing and might very well have agreed if this was for a more mainstream tag like impregnation and incest (probably the easiest targets for rewrites because they take little to no effort to inject into a story) but not for this sort of stuff.

Artists in JP often care more about their intellectual property being treated with respect than enforcing copyright, this is the entire reason the doujin "industry" can get away with selling porn parodies of anime in broad daylight, some really don't want us Westerners to touch their stuff at all but in plenty of cases that was a decision made in response to Westerners kinkshaming/judging them for their work not about the money. So if someone is to upload work that might be considered transformative to a degree because of translation, decensoring or rewriting/redrawing being involved instead of being 100% piracy, they should aim to do it properly instead of half-assing it, and I definitely wouldn't consider this half-assed as far as redraws go.

When I say "this is one of those niches where getting content at all is a welcome improvement." I'm primarily referring to tags that can barely muster ~500 galleries, even more so those that struggle to hit 100, as the pool of content left after accounting for mistagging (in particular imagesets) and different language versions of the same content becomes incredibly shallow. At 500 or so readers take what they can get, at around 100 or so I can fully understand uploaders doing whatever they can to generate more content as well even if they can't draw (then again the redrawing does indicate they have some talent for drawing that might be cultivated into producing truly original content later on)
