@and970 "obasan" or variations -- "aunt" or "auntie" -- is just how you address or refer to an older woman. It's just like you'd call a girl who's a little older than you "oneesan", "big sister", or an old woman "obaasan", "grandmother" or "grandma". It's unlikely that they're related at all.

(If I were translating the line I'd probably localize it out to "your mom" to avoid the question, because this kind of automatic honorary familial term isn't often used in English, but then I suppose somebody would try to correct me.)
