For comics 100% hand drawn, I'd say these are pretty good quality. You can like/dislike the style and medium all you want, but for what it's worth it's hardly anything close to poor quality. Though needless shade throwing is more fun than anything constructive, right?

@sunshineandlolipops I think you misunderstood something. The high quality i'm talking about is the art style of my comic, and certainly not the resolution of the pages. I say it just to clarify, because if you're telling me you don't like the theme or anything in the story, you're free to simply look elsewhere...

@inbredpsychosis Saying "it's a style thing" is how people on DA defend off-model art, just saying. My original comment was facetious and very mild all things considered. But fine, if you want to know what I really think. This looks like how 16 year olds drew in 2006 when they were in their "Inuyasha is the greatest thing ever'" phase. It's very "Westerner tries to draws generic anime".

It's 2022, there are hundreds of talented artists offering commissions that actually look professional. To charge money for hand drawn doodles in this style, at this stage of the Internet, comes very close to daylight robbery. But I would've said nothing, if it weren't for the laughable "high quality" comment. It's not throwing shade, it's a reality check on conceited self-promotion .

You can try to deny reality all you want, but I'm clearly not in the minority with my views. 35 people voted on this gallery and the rating is below 1 star. Very, very few galleries get that low a rating. And no, it's not because of the fetishes. Galleries with art by Sleepygimp or Kidetic/Kusujinn feature very similar fetishes and always get ratings between 4 and 5 stars. Want to know why? Because their stuff actually looks high quality.

If people wish to pay him for that, you can mock their taste or intellect but I'd not remotely equate it to any sort of robbery. Also I've come across plenty of galleries that are rated low because the normies dislike it. The number of times I've seen screeching manchilden cause dick no in pussy is astounding. Tickling typically isn't one of them that gets hella bombed though, so I suspect the low rating is due precisely in part of what you complain about. Not saying that isn't it, more so suggesting your comment was just being an asshole in nature. It was less facetious and more just thinly veiled smug and this is hardly the first gallery I've seen you being that way. A bit too direct to pass off as just sarcasm imo.

For what it's worth, I'm no KingNanamine simp, though I've seen him for a while. Don't dislike his art necessarily but I enjoy the minimalist style and can see the appeal. Again, you can dislike it, the rating system is there for a reason, your comment just rubbed me the wrong way. While I acknowledge the style argument has been used by poor artists, I don't see horrible uncanny valley or two left feet or other basic anatomical mistakes artists that get rave reviews consistently make. At the end of the day, its hentai so people want what looks nice and turns em on. If this aint it, it ain't it. Nothing gets my rocks off quite like a yance pic but if you want improvements in the community over spiteful individuals, a bit of restraint and critique could go a long way. That said, if you just don't like it because of what it is, you're under no obligation to do so nor is there any critique to apply other than "do something different". That doesn't really strike me as a quality issue, however.

@inbredpsychosis Call me a cynic, but I don't believe in "improvements in the community" on the Internet. Internet communities practically always devolve into chaos or echo chambers. Rare cases of improvement happen, but they are always temporary and usually have to be enforced. I've learned to just go with the flow. for each community. I'm part of, which aren't that many

I am a smug guy, I won't deny that,. It's part of my charm. :P I don't comment on here as often as I did in years past, so even though you think of me as an asshole, I am somewhat flattered I've made enough of an impression to be remembered by.

"Do something different". was kind of what this was about, since I don't think this "minimalist generic anime" type of drawing has any sort of future, especially for commissions. It's usage died down even on DA, which used to be its epicentre. For what it's worth, I respect how eloquent and articulate your defense of this gallery was. I won't reply further as we would be just talking in circles. I don't see eye to eye with you on this, but your points have been taken.

You've responded in a way I was not expecting, so I appreciate that as well. I help run a community that is (usually) neither, but most say it's an outlier so you're probably right on the community part to be honest, but be the change you wanna see I guess. Pardon of course if I was a bit rude myself, I think it was 4AM and I was pissed off at something. Good talk.
