Why are drugs for suppressing alien mind control prohibited?

Maybe it's narcotic? I'm no doctor, but stuff like that cannot be distributed nor used freely AFAIK. Unless you got licensed doctor who got permission to use it and under the right condition as well (that's what I'm thinking, at least)

Could have effects worse than the symptoms treated or just bad side effects in general. Could be dangerous for people who do not need it. Maybe some people are allergic to it, or it could be easily broken down to create some sort of illegal drug. Look, if it's medication that has to be synthesized in a lab, it has to be controlled.
