@brilei It wasn't obvious IchiOri was going to happen at all though. I don't care about the outcome at all really-- but I will say I watched the anime and didn't think it was very IchiRuki, no. I only started thinking that it was supposed to swing that way once I read the manga. It was the manga that made me think it was going to be IchiRuki. It did the whole rain/sun thing, the special covers etc-- the thing with the mom, and the manga that painted Ori as desperate and sad for the first two arcs and painted Renji as unworthy of Rukia which makes it weird they wind up together. I don't care because I wasn't invested in the outcome, but it wasn't 'obvious' it was going to wind up IchiOri; if it was you wouldn't have so many people still mad about it. If anything I thought Kubo always seemed to swing towards IchiRuki with his obsession with Rukia, until the last few arcs whereby she was suddenly forgotten and ignored. If I had to guess, he either didn't know/care himself who Ichigo was gunna wind up with and went with what was popular in Japan and his readers (IchiOri), or my second guess is that Rukia was based on someone he knew that he either broke up with or started to dislike or something, lol. Because she suddenly is shunted off as an afterthought during/after Hueco Mundo almost like he stopped caring about her, honestly. She is barely even in the comic any more, and at that point its obviously going to be IchiOri. But prior to those arcs, I would have bet money it was going to be IchiRuki. It's weird, tbh. Honestly I totally feel like he started disliking Rukia. Apparently he's single right now after being in a LT relationship so.... lol. Honestly it's far fetched but that's my theory anyway, haha.
