The whole mastercard, visa thing was bound to happen. The western Payment processors using their monopoly to pressure other countries/markets/etc to abide by their rules/censorship/.... started years ago. I wonder how long paypal would last. Knowing DMM points might be used to buy adult related material and considering paypal doesn't touch any XXX related with a 2-mile stick.
Although CCs issued inside Japan still work and only foreign CC no longer work. Still it's stupid nonetheless !

@Gambit1966 Paypal worked for a while, but now it no longer works with the two cards I have (a visa and a mastercard), it should work with the CC but I avoid using it because it is my main one. With the DMM points I managed to solve, I'm waiting for them to become available again because they ended up in the sites where I took them and on amazon.
@salar It is an absurd situation, at the moment I also have problems with AVs on DMM, some have been blocked for my region (EU) even if until a few days ago they were available, now I don't see them anymore.

So I never actually bought stuff from DMM directly,

What I did was buy a JAPAN WEBMONEY code online (which is basically like a prepaid ser amount of cash given in code) and used a VPN set to Japan to enter the code in DMM to buy DMM POINTS and buy whatever you want using the points.

It's extremely easy to do, very safe, never has failed me at all, the only issue is the fact that sadly you're paying above market price for the JAPAN WEBMONEY code, but it's a very small sacrifice for the ability to buy anything you want from DMM safely and quickly

The whole process takes no more than 5 minutes to do, if you want me to explain further let me know, it has been my preferred method and I don't have to deal with CC hassle or dogshit services like Paypal

! EDIT!: Also one tip I forgot, use whatever webpage translator you have to make things easier, I did the whole process on my phone using Chrome browser, which has a built in entire page translation feature found beside the tab number at the very top right
