Rebooting 'A Boy & His Familiar' as a SFW comic: A Thread
I'm sure this is the last thing a lot of ppl wanted to hear, but I can no longer keep working on the comic in its current state. This decision is mostly motivated by what is happening to modern men, particularly in my generation, and the affects pornography has had on our cognitive and hormonal functions.
Despite this, I have still had fun working on the comic and still value the characters I have created (and I still need to ship Rickert and Erika). So rather than completely discarding all the ideas I've thought up, I'm going to rework them into a SFW comic. I don't know what I'm going to call the reboot yet, but I know I need to give it a name other than 'A Boy & His Familiar' in order to distance it from the old project.
Any updates about the comic will be posted on @chuckeeznutz (my new main). I'm probably not going to monetize the comic for a while (if ever) and treat working on it more as a hobby. Of course I would love to be a comic artist full-time, but that's probably not very likely as an independent SFW artist.
The first page probably won't come for a while as I'll mostly be working on character designs and worldbuilding/planning generally, but hopefully some of you guys would still be interested anyway.

Because people searching for a certain tag don't give a crap about how a character was depicted in another gallery or by another artist. The purpose of tags is not to support your headcanon, the purpose of tags is to accurately describe what's depicted in the gallery they're attached to. "futanari" doesn't describe what's depicted here, nor is there a "futanari by default". This has been stated multiple times in the past, it's what the tag description states and it's what the disambiguation page (-> "know the difference") states. Stop spreading misinformation and stop mistagging galleries. All you're doing is making things worse for people who actually understand how tagging works and who use the system to tag and search for content.

well I WAS enjoying the series. but if the comic is getting dropped and rebooted as a sfw comic then ill have to drop the artist as well.

FYI no matter how hard you try to distance yourself from your nsfw work it would happen. someone will eventually make the connection and post something somewhere for others to see. Like " hey if you like this story then check out here where you see the same characters but its nsfw"

I dont hate the artist for making this decision and I wish them luck in the future but I followed for the futa on male comic and when it ends so does my interest.

This really came out of nowhere and this artist in particular did stuff like rape and ryona. A sudden flip sfw makes me think something happened irl to shake them up. Especially since they didn't eve round out the chapter before quitting.

I would understand if the creator is not making any money from his NSFW content and then suddenly decided to switch to SFW as a financial decision, I just wish BrknPncl finished the comic, the main plot is for the wizard boy to find his master and apparently they know where she is. He could finish the comic in a SFW fashion, and it would be better than to abandon it.

but actual reason doesn’t really make a difference one way or the other. There is so much more disturbing porn out there, him quitting does not quite make sense based on his reasoning. Him leaving makes no difference in the grander scheme of things.

I never jerked off to this series and actually read it for the plot (really the characters), but the debauched fucking really is part of the characters and I'm not sure if it could be the same as a SFW comic. I guess that all the fucking could still happen offscreen.

I don't really care what reason the artist gave for changing what they're making, I know I'll miss the comic updates here.
We all have some weird, wrong, fucked up logic in our heads making us do things other might not agree with, to some degree.
At least they put out some content most of us enjoyed for free (excluding the elf nose of course, no one enjoyed that). No need to crucify em because the reason they gave for wanting to change gears is an unpopular opinion or "bad take".

Maybe they'll come back to porn someday if the haters don't drive them away.
