1. Yeah, don't use Manga Temple. That font is awful and the biggest noob trap in existence. Here's better fonts to start off: Wild Words, Victory Speech, Spinner Rack BB, Richard Starkings.
2. You need to use a white stroke when your text is superimposed on background or in dark text bubbles. See the bubbles on pages 8-9, for example. Compare to the JP raw. The text has white strokes. Else, it makes your text hard to read.

Thanks for the tips. This is only my second ever scanlation, so I'm still new to all of this.

I'll give some of those other fonts a try on my next one. I've already got an idea of what I want to translate next.

As for adding the white stroke, I considered that, actually. But that weirdly made it harder to read some of the text. I even tested it with Wild Words after reading your comment, but it still seemed a bit odd to read. Since the bubbles are grey instead of black, it just doesn't seem that hard to read to me.

If you're stroking the same way you've tried in some places here (with a minuscule 1-2 pts stroke), it's going to look pretty bad.

1. When you sample a color (like those black/grey boxes), you can select the Brush tool and hold Alt + Left click on the box's color to get the perfect sample. Right now, I can clearly see two colors overlapping where you tried removing the text.
