I see/get what you're doing and while I like the idea, if you want to get more love, you are going to need to make it more conventionally attractive (doable), without sacrificing your "think". And I know, sucks to hear this because the same people who will foam at your style are happily downloading hundreds of gigabytes of the so called "anime" drawings which are just bloated, featureless, blurry faces with disgusting, bulging, soulless eyes that barely even resemble anything humanoid but that's how it is I guess.
