乾杯 becoming "Dry cup A" makes me think that this went through multiple levels of MTL. It's such a bizarre error that it looks like somebody MTLed Japanese to another language that isn't as well-supported by MTL services and then MTLed from that to English. I tried every MTL service I could think of (DeepL, Bing, Google, Yandex, LEC, Atlas, JParser) and they all got it right when going from Japanese to English. Like, I understand the etymology of it being "to drain your cup dry" but how in the fuck does an MTL service end up there?
