I translated this in an afternoon. Let me know if I missed any QC stuff. The body writing is translated on the last page if you're looking for it. Hope you enjoy.

Hello MaiseX, yeah definitely. Translation is something I really enjoy, so I'm always excited to talk about it, haha.

In terms of translation, I usually just read it and make sure I understand it and then write something in English that keeps as much of the original meaning as possible. Often times you can't say exactly 1:1 the same thing as it does in Japanese, so you have to get as much as you can while also fitting in the bubble and being easy to read. Sometimes I even re-translate it as I'm editing because it won't fit nicely or sounds weird after hearing it again. For SFX, somebody told me early on that they should be more of a sound which you can be creative with and less of a description, which I think has made them easier for me. Still some SFX is hard to look up or just wouldn't be SFX in English (like staring).

For learning Japanese if you haven't already, I'd recommend real classes if you can take them. If not, the Genki textbooks which are used in classes are really good for essential grammar (and easy to read) and you can find them online pretty easily. I started translating really early into classes (like Genki chapter 7 or something) and a lot of my early translations are pretty rough, but I learned as much from closely reading things in order to translate them as I did from classes, so translation was pretty effective for learning.

In terms of editing, I found some guides early on that were very helpful, which I will link below. I use Photoshop (but GIMP is supposed to be ok) and mainly just the pencil tool (not brush) for bubbles and the repair tool when there's a background behind the text. Then you just put in the text using the text tool. I'm not sure what it's called, but for text it's better to use the mode that does not put in a textbox, it just has an origin point but no box around the text.

The one I found the most useful was the Anon Black Typesetting Guide:
https://mangadex.org/title/08e1f85a-bb12-4fe4-aec5-0d7a80b3a261/anonblack-s-typesetting-guide

Here's some other editing links that may come in handy:

[Resources] https://quicksandscans.wordpress.com/resources/

Also for English-Japanese dictionary and example sentences:
https://jisho.org/ ||| is great for pasting in multiple words at once
https://ejje.weblio.jp/ ||| has better definitions and more example sentences (but only 1 word at a time)
https://dic.pixiv.net/ ||| sometimes has good slang dictionary because it's linked to Pixiv tags (anime-related, recent trends, and 18+ slang is usually well-documented here)
https://github.com/Pomax/nihongoresources.com/blob/master/giongo.txt ||| has a good list of SFX meanings
There are some links in the "Cove of Scanlators" in the forums here on e-hentai that are pretty good too for SFX and slang and things.

Hope that helps and good luck
