Hello everyone, it's been three months since the critically acclaimed second chapter of The Light In The Dark! But now, dear Leena slaves, Light-ers and Sol-ars (that's your name if you're a fan of one of these), the new chapter has been finished! This could be considered the second part of the "In Someone Else's Shoes" chapter, which was the previous one, since I wanted to make a nice ending to this two-parter chapter.

In the last episode, Sol (Chris) defeated a Latex Maiden, and she dropped a couple of nice heels which didn't look to be corrupting at all. That was until Chris put them on, and she was turned into a Latex Maiden! Thankfully, her necklace which contained her superpowers prevented her from being corrupted, until she wanted to give in to Leena! She became addicted to turning people into slaves and the pleasure of being a Latex Maiden, so she visited Leena and pledged her status as Latex Maiden.

This chapter, Light (Kate) will have to find out what Leena is planning while also encountering a new and mysterious character that's looking for someone... Who is she? And what are her ulterior motives behind that search? A new set of challenges and trials awaits Light. Let's all pray for the safety of the UK's best and most beloved superhero, Star Knight Light!

So overall, this was the first chapter of this story that I really liked. After the way the last chapter ended, I was worried that this series was going to fall into the same cycle as early Velzea's Invasion: new hero is introduced, new hero is corrupted by enemies, new hero becomes new villain for next new hero to try to defeat / save. This would have been particularly unfortunate since it would have meant that I'd be expected to care whether or not Light could save Sol when in fact I had barely been introduced to Sol before she was corrupted and therefore would have felt no sense of investment in a prolonged story arc where Light teams up with multiple new heroes of the month to try and save Sol, only for more and more of them to fall under Leena's sway until finally Light herself succumbs and joins Sol under Leena's boot, at which point the next batch of heroes would take their place, ad nauseam. Thankfully, it seems as though Light and Sol will at least be sticking around for a bit longer, giving us a chance to get to know them more and become more invested in their characters, so when they inevitably get corrupted again it's likely to have a greater impact and I, as a member of the audience, will actually care whether or not the heroes will be able to save one another once more.

Some other notes from my read-through:

p009: Kate's ringtone made me laugh.
p035: "You are the most valuable slave I've ever had"... well, except that one slave you lost in chapter 1 lol.
p064: Ooh, cool fade effect.
p299-315: Well, looks like Leena's victory over Light was foiled once again due to Leena being her own worst enemy. It's actually kind of cool that, in this instance, secret identities managed to cause as much trouble for the villain as they usually do for a superheroes personal life.
p324: "Maybe Mistress Leena will know why I couldn't turn her into my slave" - I 100% guarantee for the sake of the plot you didn't remember to ask her though.
p655: "Ch-Chr..." Aww, one syllable short of giving away the long game. So close!
p668: "We haven't done anything to your transformation yet"... yeaaaaah, pretty sure there was more costume on Light before she passed out, specifically on her chest.
p672: I'm fairly certain Leena should have said 'deprave' instead of 'deprive'. The word she used is funny, but otherwise doesn't make any sense.
p812: "Wh-who is Sol?"... look, I get the idea. Sol is supposed to be awakening from her corrupted state. The problem is Leena was still calling her Sol while she was a Latex Maiden. Hearing the name shouldn't be what snaps her out of it, otherwise it would have had an effect before this point. I can't say I know what the right way of portraying this was, but this felt like the wrong way to do it.
p853: "Sol, if fighting super villains resulted in a slightly corrupted form of my old outfit and a mark on my body, a lot of hidden superheroes would come out and do this job like us!"... HUH?! What the heck is this supposed to mean?*
p867: Yep, all you have to do is decide on a different name and the public will just go along with your decision. I should totally post about this on Meta and X now hehehe...
p879: I like that Chris' corrupted bio includes a ready-made excuse for why she'll keep wearing latex outfits on her dates with Kate. Still feel like that third date is gonna be kind of awkward though, what with Chris' original personality returning and whatnot. Ah well, Kate was so drunk on corrupting energy (and possibly alcohol) during their last date that she may not even notice the change.

So yeah, great chapter. Already looking forward to the next one where we'll hopefully learn more about that mysterious stranger who, hero or villain, already looks more like my preferred character type than anyone else I've seen in this series so far.

*EDIT: after a brief conversation with DarkFlame, I've learned that this line means something to the effect of “if most battles with super villains only resulted in a slightly corrupted outfit and an evil back tattoo, then a lot more superheroes would be out there fighting crime like us”. My thanks to DarkFlame for the clarification.

想到一个好玩的结局，琳娜输了但是她变成一种概念继续影响下去。该影响增加对另一半的性冲动和对乳胶服装的狂热。主角们胜利了，索尔有调教光成为自己奴隶的执念加上后遗症，日常生活中索尔一直对光调戏骚扰

I really hope that despite being "purified" Chris will go back to Leena willingly, and give into the pleasure of corruption even harder than before. Especially since she knows how good it feels. Could even make her hate Light/Kate to the point where she stops at nothing to turn her into her slave, with or without permission from Leena.
