Protip: don't just search "shemale". Search "Female:Shemale" and it will exclude stuff tagged only futanari.

No, Shemale is classified as a female tag. You're just specifying that you want only shemale, not futanari.

Adding Male: or Female: in front of a tag helps you to sort out what you want to see. For example, if you want to search Anal, you'll get back EVERYTHING that's tagged Anal. But let's say you don't want to see dudes getting fucked in the ass, then if you type in Female:Anal, you'll specifically get galleries that are tagged for females receiving anal. Try it out.

An interesting quirk of how it’s coded is that while for some reason it does give futanari results when you search ‘shemale’, it does not when searching for the tag’s synonyms. So what I do is just search ‘newhalf’. A bit easier and more fool proof than having to remember the proper syntax to search the tag specifically and seems to give the same result.
