I figured that Roger's/Rosey's place would be a bit more cartoonish. Exaggerated colors and angles, portraits hanging on the wall wolf-whistling at Jessie, that kind of thing.

I was interested in seeing how this was going to turn out with this gender bent based on the original work. I did not expect this to be so goddamn wholesome. I gotta admit, this hooked me...in the end. I had a real problem with the optics of the male character's looks....and him crying (something men don't do under stress)...but the situation kinda meeted out that serious role flaw.
