I guess because this looks like a photo of a sketch.
Sketch is fine with me, but this would really benefit from simply scanning it and fixing this terrible gray background that makes it look like it was drawn on cheap toilet paper.
If it was a photo of some rare book i'd understand that someone wouldn't want to destroy it, but this comes directly from the author, so i guess it's being treated like these cheap machine translations that look like no one even tried reading them before uploading.
