This is not futanari. "Futanari" is not a synonym of "dickgirl". The "futa-" in "futanari" literally means "two" or "both", as in sets of genitals. Besides, I don't think that's what is happening here anyhow. I see enough of this stuff to know that many people genuinely believe "futa" is a synonym of "dickgirl" and can be used in all cases.

I'm kind of curious as to the angle of the "leave paragraph long responses about why this futa should be a shemale" people that seem to be very vocal lately. A lot of the time people (including myself) nitpicky or not have a preference for the tag/fetish and don't just generalize all Futanari to "Female Form with a Penis". Some people prefer both genitalia to be present and some just the one. It's the entire point of the tagging system to be able to differentiate the two if you are looking for that particular kind of content. All trying to turn the term into an umbrella term does is make it harder for people that have a certain interest to find content that they are looking for. That said I'm not as much of a stickler about this sort of thing as some; I'm just stating the issues with it.

IngmarS, this is a Wendy's, I don't think "respect" is a factor for anyone's decision to do anything here. My comment was about "not getting it", not "not caring". Although, you are correct, in that I obviously don't care about the tags myself, but I also don't understand the Holy Crusades that have been going on recently.

Which, ultimately it's looking like it doesn't matter because everything tagged "shemale" also comes up under "futanari", and for the most part everything "futanari" also comes up under "shemale", regardless of whether both tags have even been added. It has been this way for well over a decade and I don't see that changing any time soon.

My engagement with the tag system begins and ends at the "using it to search stuff" stage, so I don't know how it works behind the scenes, but constantly seeing these arguments everywhere makes me wonder if it wouldn't help if there actually was an umbrella tag that was implied by both existing ones and used in cases where it's not explicit.
At least for me, since I don't care about the distinction, it would be nice to have a single tag that would show everything from both types.

Looking at your Base +2, you're so new here that you don't even understand why we have a tagging system, so I will explain it to you.

People are very particular about their sexual fetishes. They can't explain why they like what they like, they just do. Some people like dickgirls and gender changes, other people like armpits and feet. It doesn't make sense and it doesn't need to. But what all of those people appreciate is being able to find exactly the right material to satisfy them. Thus, a tagging system with high granularity, specific definitions, and multiple enforcement mechanisms.
