About page 17: It is customary for Manga to start a new chapter with a page in full color but there's also another reason why I did this.

I want to include one of my favorite tropes of the original series: which is for the Turtles to watch a cartoon series on TV which is a wink to well known Cartoon series.

He's basically Vegeta and Prince Zuko combined into one person. But as a joke, he wears Son Goku's colors. Seeing as how Vegeta started out a space pirate who conquered worlds and as a reference to Zuko's scarred face, I gave him an eye patch.

Is the combination of Son Goku and Avatar Aang.
"Mahalo" is Hawaiian for "Thank you" while "Cachalot" in addition to sounding like "Kakkarot" is a Sperm whale. I had been breaking my head over what to do with Aang's arrow tattoo, since that is a very recognizable part of his look. How would I adapt that? And all of a sudden I had it: I would place twin arrow Tattoos on both sides of his head.

Orcinus Orca is the Latin name for a killer whale.

@Nintyfresh Thanks man. That panel is a tribute to one of the most famous scenes from X-men during the "Dark Phoenix" saga. In that scene, Wolverine was defeated by Harry Leland of the Hellfire club who at first crushed him by increasing his weight to several tons which then send him breaking through the floor of the building into the sewer.

This tag is for animals only, and should not be used with furry characters.
Same goes for tag "turtle". And "fish", for the matter.
Use "lizard boy"/"lizard girl" when appropriate in conjunction with "furry" tag instead.

Back then I would color my comics using windows paint, which looked really rough, I also didn't give a shit about doing backgrounds, preferring to have single color there.

Nowadays, I take drawing very seriously, work with examples, color and ink everything for real, take page 193 in this story, take the scenes of Tsunami jumping from rooftop to roof top, take the scene of her crying face, I developed a much more fluid way of drawing, there is none of how stiff it used to be.

Also, make no mistake, coloring using inks is TOUGH, you won't get a second chance if you fuck it up.

To all of you who say that my style hasn't changed, you don't know what you're talking about, take "Party at Lindy's" and compare it to this, and you'll see not just that my style has changed but also just how much it has changed.
