I agree with bbw. They make it seem like it's a punishment to become a beautiful woman. Maybe it would be a punishment if they would make her fat and ugly, but they never do that, because that would not be a sexy hentai (nobody wants to read that).
I much prefer it when the male protagonist is changed into a pretty woman in order to save his life, or for some sexy experimentation with a (girl)friend, or to help out a friend, or for a medical experiment, or to learn more about women, or even just by accident. The revenge plot is probably the worst of the bunch, also because it makes it nearly impossible to identify or even sympathize with the guy-turned-girl.

@Jazzy81 Think of it as "reverse corruption", then. Pieces of shit like him see women as inferior to themselves, so becoming one is the ultimate humiliation. Though granted, most of the time it does come with identity death so it's useless at the end.

I also like wholesome stories but I'm fine with this kind, too. Fresh breath of air from the usual corruption ones when they turn a normal guy into a depraved slut for no reason.
