As someone that does this a lot, use an XL model. 1.5 models are a full gen behind and it shows. Other than that look at what people use on civitai for keywords the model you're using recognizes. If you have any image editting abilities (pen tool, feathering, gradient shadowing, working with layer transparency overlays), it helps a lot if you're trying to leaen how to make good images.
