It's funny that you see a mob go off on a fairly solid translation for no good reason and has no counterargument beyond a downvote, and then turn around and liken their targets to the gestapo.

I would first ask how the brigaders know it isn't good when nobody has posted a single error yet.

But to answer your question, I didn't say it's good, I said it's "fairly solid".
Everything makes sense in context, the grammar is decent, and again, nobody has posted any errors. MTL is bad at japanese, but so are many amateur translators. I have no more basis to assume that there are errors than on any other gallery, and unless you want me to wantonly accuse every single gallery on the page to be potentially mistranslated, I can't do that here either.

Of course, if one of the divine masters of the japanese language who have ignored this work so far would suddenly decend upon our mortal plane and list a significant number of crucial errors, I would naturally change my mind. Don't see any of them though.

Nobody was translating this, and nobody was going to either. Stop lying to yourself. You're waiting for the faint hope of a handful of translators picking this work among a bazillion of others, and then also doing a good job translating it. Most works never get translated at all. If it didn't happen so far, it's unlikely it ever will.

That is, if you were waiting at all. I'd bet that most of the haters didn't even know this work exists in the first place and still wouldn't know without this gallery. If anything, this MTL has brought the work to more people, which means it actually has better chances to get commisioned.

P.S.

If you prefer it untranslated, gtfo and look at the raws. Nobody smeared anything on them. Ain't nobody ever gotten sick of raw beef, right?

but those instances can always be better clarified with a knowledgeable translator

Now we finally have an idea of the degree to which the translation is flawed, and we can say with certainty, judging by objective merit of the result rather than prejudice toward the tool, that the translation is not accurate, and therefore not good.

However, I don't think these fairly minor errors change the intent of the dialogue or detract from the story, so I stand by the statement that it's fairly solid. Definitely better than guessing at raws and easily on par with some of the less skilled translators around.
